<nettime-ann> [event] Next Blackmarket: Warsaw, Sat., 8th of Oct. 2005 |
Mobile Academy and TR Warszawa proudly present: Blackmarket for Useful Knowledge and Non-Knowledge: Invisible, Unknown and Ghostly Knowledge With 100 Experts from Warsaw. An Installation by Hannah Hurtzig. The Mobile Academy moves 2006 to Warsaw, the Blackmarket is its first presentation. This installation is concerned with knowledge transfer within public spaces. The Blackmarket allows professional knowledge and theoretical discourses to encounter the practices of everyday life, work, and individual narration, thus creating a public geography, in which knowledge and information is communicated visually and in a process of negotiation. The installation has been successfully staged in museums and theatres. 100 Warsaw experts can be booked that night for half an hour by a single person for 2 Zlotys! 240 expert hours are offered that night on the topic of Invisible, Unknown and Ghostly Knowledge. Invisible knowledge refers to economic, political, and social structures that cannot be recognized because we are blind to them; it means ideas and things that cannot be spoken, whether due to censorship or banning, or because they have not yet become linguistically comprehensible; it is the suppressed, forgotten contents of the past or the fantastic and also possible visions of the future.
